Big Bodies, Wounded Hearts

There’s a difference between growing up and healing.

Some people choose to truly heal from their childhood trauma.

They do the work, feel the pain, process it, and gently let it go.

They leave behind what hurt them—not out of denial,

but out of a deep decision that the pain ends with them.

Others grow in body, age, responsibility…

but carry their trauma tightly within.

They convince themselves it’s protection.

That being tough will prevent more harm.

That raising children with hardness will “prepare them for life.”

But there’s a difference between protecting yourself,

and becoming what once hurt you.

There’s a difference between being firm with love—

and cold with fear.

Healing doesn’t mean forgetting the past.

It means refusing to repeat it.

When you truly heal, you don’t drag your wounds into the next generation.

You build a life from softness, wisdom, and strength—

not fear.
